All of this is good and well, but what does it have to do with my project?  Along side all of the above developing technologies, humans have also been striving for true virtual/augmented reality.  Two prime examples of such technology can be seen in the Matrix movies as well as Minority Report.  The Matrix movies deal with complete virtual reality, that that cannot be distinguished from actual reality – a full physical, mental, and physiological experience.  Minority Report deals with augmented reality; manipulating objects in space using only one’s own body movements; objects that are not actually present in a physical sense.  Both of these technologies are two main inspirations for my project.
